Some Common Problems

Common Problem Areas...

Common Problems After many years of vehicle repair experience we know that there are some common problems that vehicle owners constantly face when they have their vehicles repaired.

#1 - "Full Coverage" but no rental

Most insureds do not know what their policy really says. They most commonly assume that "full coverage" means that have rental car coverage. Rental coverage is usually separate and additional from the "full coverage" package. Most rental car coverage is extremely inexpensive (usually less than a days rental cost for a whole year of coverage). If you don't have it on your policy we strongly recommend that you get it. When you are in an accident situation without the use of your car it is invaluable. If you are a claimant (the other persons insurance company is paying) you automatically are entitled to a replacement vehicle to drive while yours is being repaired.

#2 - Our Estimate / Insurance Estimate
If there is a difference in the estimate we've written on your vehicle and the insurance company's estimate it's critically important for us to know which estimate you want us to repair your vehicle with. If the insurance company has estimated your vehicle higher than ours it's probably because they're anticipating some damage that is not visible. If it's lower it may not include critical operations that are necessary to bring your vehicle to a satisfactory level of repair. Any variables in either estimate is cleared up after tear down for inspection and final assembly and detail. You will receive a final total that shows each twist and turn the repair process has taken. The insurance company will pay for anything and everything that's legitimate in the restoration of your vehicle.

#3 - Save my deductible?
Occasionally we are asked this question. Our usual reply is "What is it that you don't want us to fix?". In some situations it's possible to not repair some items such as scuffed wheels/bumpers that are still functional. While insurance companies are obligated to make you whole they will want to be informed when agreements of this nature take place.

#4 - Customer not calling the insurance company
It's critical that you inform your insurance company as soon as possible. This clears the way and sets the stage for us to proceed with the claims/repair process as soon as possible. Not doing this immediately can eat up valuable days with out your vehicle.
