Important Tips After An Accident
- With the average car costing more than ever before, you'll want to
preserve its value by having it repaired professionally.
- You have the right to go to the repair shop of your choice. Your
insurance company cannot require you to go to a particular shop. All
insurance companies know this. Some may want to find out if you
know this. This may turn into a consumer test that you need to
pass.
- You are not required by law to obtain more than one
estimate.
- Some insurance companies may want you to visit their drive-in claims
center before having your car repaired. You can do this, or you may
leave your car at our shop and ask that the insurance company inspect
the car here.
- Never drive a vehicle that may be unsafe after the accident.
- Choose a shop that has unibody repair equipment and certified
technicians. Ideally, you want an I-Car Gold Class shop. This means the
majority of the technicians and estimators are I-Car trained.
- It's common to have estimates that differ from one another. A lower
estimate may not include all necessary work. A higher estimate may be
anticipating damage that cannot be adequately viewed without removing
damaged outer parts. If you're not sure why our estimate is different
from another you've received, please ask us.
- Ask if the shop offers a repair warranty.
- We will help you negotiate your claim with the insurance company if
you like.
